Come play with soap, scents, and suds and create bath bombs inspired by the explosively colorful vessels in the exhibition. Just like in ceramics when fire and heat transform ordinary earth into colorful glazes, water will bring your soapy creations to life as they bubble and change colors. This workshop will use only natural ingredients.
Be part of an engaging evening of creation, experimentation, and conversation over art and a glass of wine. The Third Thursday Studio program invites participants to explore techniques and themes of contemporary art through discussion and hands-on experiences inspired by the artists in the current exhibitions.
Lacie Adams is an herbalist and the creator of Bod-Tea Herbal Bath Bombs. Based in Ojai, California, she finds herself surrounded by natural, medicinal herbs and challenges herself to learn all she can about the products of her surroundings. Adams is of Choctaw descent on her mother’s side, which inspired her at a young age to explore the power of nature and its medicine. She felt drawn to create a product that would allow her to share with others this powerful healing potential of nature.
Admission to each Third Thursday Studio includes a complimentary glass of wine. MCASB Members receive free admission. RSVP here to reserve your spot. Space is limited to 12 participants. Please arrive on time, as spaces not filled by the start of the program will be opened to other interested parties.
Please note: This event includes an additional materials fee of $10. Each participant will make at least three bath bombs. Please bring an apron, mixing bowl and mixing spoon (no wood). Essential oils and other ingredients are provided, but feel free to bring your preferred scents and anything else that you would like to add to your bath bomb.
