Join us for a night of stories, spoken word, poetry, ​and ​music​ ​to kick-off artist Cruz Ortiz week-long project in Santa Barbara, El Johnny the Satellite, a poster-making, music-blasting screen-printing bilingual bicycle that will travel around Santa Barbara. Come hang out to create poster text that will be used throughout Cruz’ project, learn about DIY print-making processes, rep SB, and give Cruz a warm welcome! ​​Event is free and open to all – plus we got $2 tacos, y’all!​ ​Based in San Antonio, Texas, Cruz Ortiz uses print, performance, and film to address issues connected to his experience growing up in the bilingual and bicultural landscape of South Texas.
